Martin has been at Holtzbrinck Ventures since its foundation in 2000 and played a major role in the direction and development of the company into one of Europe’s leading venture capital firms. Martin has been involved in over 100 deals and has helped some of Europe’s most successful online companies on their way. Martin was also responsible, among other things, for Holtzbrinck Ventures’ investment in Groupon.
Before joining Holtzbrinck Ventures, Martin, as CFO, was responsible for the successful IPO of Netlife AG, a software company which specialized in online banking. Martin began his career back in 1994 as an investment manager of the venture capital arm of Bayerische Landesbank, one of the leading German banks. Martin completed his studies in Business Administration in Nuremberg, graduating with honors. He is married and has two children.
