Dr. Uwe Bartsch, Head of Venturing & Eco-Systems – Helvetia Group. Uwe was born in 1964 and holds a Ph.D. in Economics of the University of St. Gallen. Before, he studied information management in Konstanz and business informatics in Pforzheim. He started his career in 1980 at Württembergische Versicherungen in Stuttgart with an apprenticeship as insurance salesman. During his studies, he worked as an ICT consultant and founded the start-up CARTOON, which sold paper-furniture and futon-beds. In 1990, Uwe joined Helvetia Group where he led several business units such as processes & quality, IT, and corporate development. He also led several projects for IT-Applications, business reengineering and post-merger-integrations (Alba, Phenix and National Suisse).
From 2011 to 2016, Uwe was a member of the Executive Management Board of Helvetia Switzerland. Since 2017 he is Chairman of Moneypark, where Helvetia is a majority shareholder. Uwe is responsible for the Helvetia Venture Fund at Helvetia and member of several Start-up Boards of Directors.
