Dr. Konrad Hummler, born in 1953, studied law at the University of Zurich. At this time he served as chief editor of the “Swiss college newspaper” and managed the St. Gallen Management Symposium during two years. After studying law, he studied economics at the University of Rochester in 1978/79.
He completed his studies in 1981 with a dissertation in the area of law and computer sciences. He then joined the financial analysis department of the Union Bank of Switzerland to switch soon to the personal staff of the Chairman of the Board Dr. Robert Woodbach. In 1990 Konrad Hummler joined the (then still very small) private bank Wegelin & Co in St. Gallen, and became a partner at Wegelin in 1991. Between 1990 and 2010 he has held a number of board roles in different companies, but gradually reduced these activities over the years. Dr. Hummler has been a board member of the Swiss Bankers Association and a member of the council of the Swiss National Bank.
