Venture Capital for Swiss Pension Funds

btov is collaborating with the University of St. Gallen to host a discussion around Swiss pension funds’ participation in Venture Capital.

Highly developed startup eco-systems such as Silicon Valley in the US offer attractive investment opportunities for institutional investors and sustainbly impact the competitive positioning and economic power of their region. US pension funds regularly invest in Venture Capital funds focusing on Silicon Valley startup investments. Compared to the volumes seen in the US, investments of European pension funds into Venture Capital funds are small and infrequent.

This event aims to inform and discuss relevant approaches to Venture Capital fund investing with selected asset allocation decision makers through presentations and interactive workshops.

Key Discussion Points

  • What is the economic impact of the asset class Venture Capital as innovation catalyst?
  • What do the activities of US pension funds look like vs. their European counterparts and what are the (performance relevant) results?
  • What does the Venture Capital business look like in praxis?
  • Which Venture Capital fund investment opportunities exist in  Switzerland?
